Doug & Becca ~ Engaged!

Let me tell you something -- Sunday was HOT. Even Sunday evening. But Doug and Becca toughed it out in the heat and we all had a great time for their engagement photos at Kanapaha Botanical Gardens (where they're getting married next March!). These two were so much fun to take pictures of -- so in love and happy!

Thanks to Wendy for the use of the parasol! :)

I love that there are so many different places at Kanapaha to take different types of shots. By the way, check out Becca's shoes!!!

After Kanapaha, we stopped by Doug and Becca's house quick to catch a few shots with their two pups, Whiskey and Bella. Can't leave the "kids" out of the photos!! :)

Baby Owen ~ Gainesville Newborn Photograher

Ahhh, babies!! :) They're so wonderful and sweet. There's nothing like that good clean baby smell (note: I did say clean.... babies don't always smell lovely!) and that soft, soft skin! You may remember Kelly and Mort from their maternity session a few weeks ago. Well, baby Owen was born on Tuesday the 5th, and I had the pleasure of spending a few hours with them on Saturday to capture some images of their sweet new guy! Owen was so good the entire time -- he cuddled right up on the warm blanket and hardly fussed at all. So enjoy all of the sweet baby goodness!

This cute blanket and hat were hand knitted by a friend of the family. It was so soft and the hat fit just perfectly (Great job Jamie!!).

Love this one in Daddy's hands. :)

Mom and Dad are SO in love with baby Owen. It's the best thing. Ever. Seriously. :)

And now an out-take. Kelly is a dressage rider and before our session had emailed me to ask what I thought of trying to get a photo of Owen on her saddle. I was game to try it, but as you can see below, Mr. Owen was having nothing of it. Poor guy!! Kelly rescued him off the saddle pretty quickly...

Happy Wednesday!

Alex & Aleska, Sneak Peek

Last weekend I second shot a wedding with the ever wonderful Wendy, which was super sweet and fun! Alex and Aleska got married at the Baughman Center on campus and the reception was held at the Village Center in Haile Plantation.  Everything was lovely! A few shots from Aleska's portraits...

What little girl doesn't dream of a lovely big dress to twirl in on her wedding day?

And who doesn't want to arrive to their wedding reception in a Rolls Royce?

More to come!

For the Love ~ Under the Lights

Right, so that blogging I promised you? Here it is! At least the first bit of it. So awhile back the ladies of For the Love got together downtown for an "Under the Lights" photo shoot. Basically, just practicing shooting in low light with whatever ya got -- flash, no flash, whatever! We met at Maude's, wandered around the Sun Center and then made our way to Sakura, which is a fabulous little cupcake bakery! So feast your eyes on some prettiness from downtown Gainesville... Thanks so much to Debra and Kelly for coming out and for Wendy who made it even though she was a tad bit late! ;)  And look out for more For the Love get-togethers coming up.. .

Debra and Kelly! :)

This may be my new favorite place downtown.... seriously good cupcakes.

Look at all of those choices!!

Seriously yummy stuff here... and such a cute place. Definitely need to go back... any takers? :)

Eddie & Juliana ~ Gainesville Wedding Photographer

Last weekend was my first time as a second photographer with my wonderful friend Wendy. I don't know if you remember, but Sunday started off cold and rainy... not a good start for any wedding day!  Thankfully the rain moved out and it turned into a pretty, if chilly, day!  Juliana and Eddie opted for a first look on the University of Florida campus, which has so many great places to take photos. First looks are so much fun -- the anticipation of seeing each other for the first time and the chance to exchange those little bits of love before the chaos and excitement of the ceremony and reception begin make for a wonderful opportunity for beautiful photos. Just look how radiant Juliana is:

We snuck into the University Auditorium on campus for some more portraits...
It has beautiful light!!

Juliana had an Ah-Mazing dress...

And check out her beautiful shoes!!

Dad capturing a shot of the guys.

I'll leave you with one of my favorites... Seriously, these two were so adorable the entire time -- I think I could have spent another two days taking photos of them!

Congratulations Eddie & Juliana!

Wendy ~ Gainesville Portrait Photographer

Success!! Our first For the Love get together was, um, amazing! Wendy, Deb, Steph and I all met at the Starbucks in downtown Gainesville for some coffee, good friends, and good times! I have to admit, even though it was my first time meeting Deb and Steph, it felt like we were all good friends already. We all fell into chatting about photography, about life, and about fun and before long, we'd drunk our coffee and giggled our way through being on the other side of the camera. Roaming around downtown was great -- there are so many fun places to take photos in such a small area. I'll have posts with everyone's photos, but wanted to start with Wendy's. Wendy has become such a good friend this past year - I don't know what I'd do without her! She's always there to bounce ideas off of, has an infectious smile, and always sees the good (in things, in people, in life!). She's like a ray of sunshine (k... getting a bit sappy here, think I'll finish this off quick-like!). Anyways, here are some of my favorites of Wendy....

You see what I mean about that smile? You're smiling now, aren't you? You just can't help it! (Note: this yellow wall was ah-maz-ing! and matched oh, so perfectly with Wendy's outfit!)

Ooooh, show me some love!

RAWR! :)

Wendy in a pod! Love these pod chairs outside of 101 Downtown...

A quick sneak peak from Dorothy and Dylan's photoshoot on their farm in Gainesville this past weekend. More to come!
